August 16 - Lord Balarama´s
appearance day
Lord Balarama appeared about 5000 years ago as Lord Krishna´s
elder brother. We will hear about His life and sing traditional
bhajans. Everybody is welcome to bring a little snack. The
program starts at 5.00 P.M.
August 22 - Bhagavad-gita seminar
Bhagavad-gita is our holy scripture and the guideline of our
lives. It was spoken by Lord Krishna to His devotee Arjuna
and deals with many important existential questions. We will
systematically go through the Bhagavad-gita and its purports
in the course of a number of meetings. On this occasion we
will discuss chapter 9, part 1. Everyone is warmly welcome!
We will start at 4.00 P.M.
August 24 - Janmashtami, Lord
Krishna´s appearance day
Janmashtami is one of the most significant festivals for the
Vaishnavas, and celebrates the day when Lord Krishna appeared
on this Earth planet to protect and to please His devotees.
We will celebrate this most auspicious day with a grand festival
consisting of bhajans, a lecture and a traditional bathing
ceremony, abhisheka. If you like you can bring a birthday
present for Krishna. The festival starts at 3.00 P.M. You
are very welcome!
August 25 - Shrila Prabhupada´s appearance day
Shrila Prabhupada is the founder/acharya of the Hare Krishna
movement, who brought the Vedic
philosophy and culture to the West. We will celebrate this
day with a nice evening program where everyone is welcome
to offer a poem or prayers to Shrila Prabhupada. You are also
welcome to bring a snack or some fruits which can be offered.
The program starts at 5.30 P.M.
